About Me

This is my third year as a research fellow at the University of St Andrews. My position is funded by an EPSRC grant awarded to Dr Collin Bleak and Professor Peter Cameron for studying automorphisms of the two-sided shift using asynchronous automata. Before moving to Scotland I was a faculty member at Bard College in upstate New York from 2008 to 2018, where I attained the rank of Associate Professor.

In addition to working on research, I am currently co-supervising a Ph.D. student (Davide Perego) with Dr Francesco Matucci at the University of Milano–Bicocca. Davide is studying the machinery of rational embeddings of hyperbolic groups with the goal of deriving topological information about the Gromov boundary of such a group.
